Innovative didactic proposal by Press Here

Press Here by Herve Tullet is an interactive book which allows preschool students to have a multi disciplinary and multisensorial experience.
Education and digital tools nowadays need to go hand-in hand as a response to the great opportunities that technological devices provide. Cuadernia is a digital tool that will allow students to interact in order to experience learning.

In this Cuadernia we can find useful and didactic multimedia tools to teach figures, shapes, numbers,
colours, music notes and directions experimenting with bottle caps, watercolours, watching interesting videos or listening to catchy songs. This is a really attractive and interactive source where the child will be the protagonist of his/her own learning. First the students will look at the presentation that has the form of an eBook but the appearance of a power point. This will help them to identify the most relevant information which they will need later on to carry out the different activities.
The main concepts and theory of the units are:

  • Acquire the foreign language through the 4 C’s (Communication, Cognition, Culture and Knowledge)
  • Learn different disciplines using the same resource Press Here (Maths, Art, Music, Psychomotricity).
  • Learn the shape of a circle and distinguish it from other shapes.
  • Learn the primary colours: red, yellow and blue.
  • Be able to count until five.
  • Predict what happens when we mix these primary colours and therefore learn other colours.
  • The music notes.
  • Learn verbs related to music using your body parts like tap, clap…
  • Understand and acquire the directions: up, down, left and right.

After being exposed to the book in every session children will achieve the vocabulary and concepts related to colours, shapes, numbers which will be consolidated through the activities carried out in the classroom, listening to music or watching interesting videos. In some sessions the teacher will have to provide a further explanation and divide the class into groups of 5 or into pairs. The activities have been designed for 1st year of preschool (3-4 years old).
